Publications

One of ICASP's core principles is the belief that academic work and research ought to be based in, answerable, and available to the communities in which we live and work. For this reason, we are committed to making our research outcomes and ideas freely available to any interested parties in as many forms as possible. Our researchers are continually at work, developing new ideas and exploring uncharted terrain in a range of publications.

For details of our publishing record and plans, read about our books, journal, newsletter, and policy papers.

Improvisation implies a deep connection between the personal and the communal, self and world. A “good” improviser successfully navigates musical and institutional boundaries and the desire for self-expression, pleasing not only herself but the listener as well.
