This project takes a three-pronged approach to the dissemination of research results, focusing on 1) outreach, 2) networking and advocacy, and 3) electronic, broadcast, and print media. We therefore have methods for disseminating project research to the community, the polity, and the academy. Community partners such as festivals afford a unique additional site for a breadth of outreach to new, diverse, and broadly-based knowledge-users. Building on the networks that our non-academic partners have already established with key decision-makers (councils, governmental agencies), the project seeks to advocate for an enriched understanding of improvisation into the decisions of informed policy-makers, primarily via the production of our four policy papers. More familiar models of academic research dissemination will be pursued through book and journal publication, while the website, radio broadcasts, and annual colloquia will enable dissemination across the divides separating conventional academic research, creative practice, and community involvement.
