"Pitch into Time" is a brief note on Anthony Braxton's use of extreme low registers such as tuba ensembles and contra-bass saxophone; a more general fascination with the destructive powers of sub-sonic frequencies; and Ezra Pound's parallel interest in the idea of "the Great Bass," in which rhythms mathematically parallel the frequencies of audible pitches.
