This article briefly summarizes the results of Toronto high school music teacher Doug Friesen's experimental improvisational workshops in the classroom setting. Overall, Friesen feels that musician Dave Clark's improvisational games help to balance the power dynamic between teacher and student, promote skills and tools that are highly valuable, and increase enrollment in his class.
