The Improvising Eye: Symposium and Performance - December 17th, 2010
Posted: Friday, December 10, 2010Famous Korean Percussionist to Appear at Guelph Symposium Do not miss the chance to see internationally renowned improvising percussionist Dong- Won Kim appearing as part of a symposium on creative improvisation held in Guelph this coming week. Entitled “The Improvising Eye,” the symposium will be held in a number of downtown Guelph venues on Friday 17th December, from 1pm-10pm, and will include talks, interviews, film showings, and performances.
ICASP Researchers quoted for article in Jazz Times magazine

"Rhapsody in Rainbow: Jazz and the Queer Aesthetic - A look at how gay jazz musicians have dealt with their identity through their music" includes comments from Sherrie Tucker, Ingrid Monson, and Kevin McNeilly. Guelph Jazz Festival, in partnership with ICASP, receives $134,800 grant
Posted: Tuesday, November 30, 2010The Guelph Jazz Festival, in partnership with the Improvisation, Community, and Social Practice project, has received a $134,800 grant from the Ontario Trillium Foundation (OTF). The three-year OTF grant will provide funds to support community outreach activities (such as the Improviser in Residence program), enhance Nuit Blanche programming, and strengthen the Guelph Jazz Festival's overall capacity by hiring staff.
