Making the Changes: Ethics and the Improvising Business

Posted: Monday, November 14, 2011

ICASP Symposium December 2, 2011 in Guelph. Please join us for the symposium, Making the Changes: Ethics and the Improvising Business, which explores the intersection of business management, improvised music, and social ethics. The symposium brings together leaders in the fields of cultural studies, management, ethnomusicology, business ethics, and music performance to address issues that emerge from the intersection of improvisation and business management. Includes evening performances and book launch.

So one of the things that improvisation has come to mean in the context of highly technological performance is that improvisation is the last claim to the legitimate presence of a human in the performance of music.

– Bob Ostertag
