ICASP documentary on AIMToronto premieres -- Address correction

"ICASP SPOTLIGHT Presents: AIMToronto", a documentary film produced by Martin Eckart and Rob Wallace, premieres Sunday, Sept. 6, 8 p.m., at Somewhere There, 340 Dufferin Street (one block south of Queen, enter from Melbourne Ave.), Toronto. The screening is preceeded at 6 p.m. by a performance by Joe Sorbara's ensemble, Other Foot First, which is featured in the film. This is a pay what you wish event.

Eckart is a research assistant with the Improvisation, Community, and Social Practice project; Wallace is the project's 2008-2009 post-doctoral fellow. Sorbara is an applied music instructor with the School of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Guelph.

So one of the things that improvisation has come to mean in the context of highly technological performance is that improvisation is the last claim to the legitimate presence of a human in the performance of music.
