Ed Video & IICSI present Video Play: An Improvised Film Series Video Play: An Improvised Film Series brings together filmmakers from the International Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation and Ed Video’s Play Proposition II for three evenings of screenings and discussion on film/video and improvisation. The series addresses both films on improvisational arts-based practices and improvisation in the filmmaking process. All events in the Improvised Video Series are FREE, and open to everyone.

In a world where the only constant is change, the increased interest in improvisation across a wide variety of disciplines is not surprising. This focus on improvisation indicates a greater awareness of the general unpredictability of a future where rules, guidelines, and planning ever more quickly become obsolete and force unforeseen (the literal meaning of the Latin world im-provisio) actions. It also explains the premium contemporary society puts on spontaneity, inventiveness, and creativity.

Improv Week! February 24-26 2015 Tuesday, February 24, 7:00-9:30 pm, MCKN 203: CME Workshop (Joe Sorbara and Jacob Drab Sextet), co-sponsored by SOFAM, Silence, and IICSI The Jacob Matheus Drab Sextet will perform a short 'concert' to start followed by a Q&A to get into what they do. The CME and the JMDS will work together to play music of both the CME and the JMDS and to integrate a group composition.
