Rachel has recently completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Guelph in Environmental Governance and English. Throughout her time with the ICASP project, Rachel has acted as the coordinator for the 2010 Summer Institute for Critical Studies in Improvisation and the 2011-2012 Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquia. Rachel continues to provide administrative support for the project, including coordination for the 2013 Guelph Jazz Festival Colloquium.

So one of the things that improvisation has come to mean in the context of highly technological performance is that improvisation is the last claim to the legitimate presence of a human in the performance of music.
